Created during summer 2020, this high-impact landing page helped audiences stargaze national parks from home, to promote Under Lucky Stars. Given that audiences couldn't get to the parks to view the stars, this site brought the stars to them – showing them their closest parks, and rating those best for stargazing. The site was awarded #1 on '2020’s Most Inspiring Pieces of Interactive Content'.

The design

In order to maximise user experience and feel like a real-life tour, audiences could navigate from park to park through a horizontal scroll, which revealed full screen images of the stargazing sites. Alongside a national park score, Rise at Seven's data team also provided each park with a Stargazing Score, which ranked its Bortle score (how visible the stars are) and footfall figures.

A campaign running at a similar time also visualised the rise in space junk using Under Lucky Stars' star maps. By littering debris and satellites over the top of their maps, the sharp rise in 'space junk' out there could be shown to grow over time – from 1969 to an estimated view of 2030.
